A 7-pin connection generally covers the standard trailer lighting and compatible brake-control circuits. A 12-pin connection provides additional pins that may be used for fridge, auxiliary or other caravan circuits when wired for that purpose.

Yes. We can assess the existing plug and wiring, then determine whether the socket can be changed directly or whether additional wiring is required for the extra circuits you need.
If the trailer has electric brakes, a compatible brake controller may be required. The trailer plug carries the relevant brake signal, but the brake controller is a separate part of the vehicle’s towing system. We can assess and install both services together.
A red Anderson-style connection is commonly used as a dedicated supply for certain compatible caravan electronic stability-control systems. The connection must be matched and wired according to the trailer equipment manufacturer’s requirements.
The Anderson plug supplies power to the trailer system, but the actual charging rate is controlled by the installed DC–DC charger, battery system and available vehicle supply. We assess the complete system rather than treating the plug alone as the charger.
