BOOST Stage: Upon correct installation and validation of a power input source, the Battery Charger initiates the charging process in the Boost stage. Here, a constant current is maintained until the auxiliary battery voltage reaches its Absorption Voltage. Dynamic adjustments may occur during the Boost stage to ensure a safe operating temperature and to limit the voltage difference between the input and output, enhancing overall efficiency.

ABSORPTION Stage: Subsequently, the Charger transitions to the Absorption stage, where a constant voltage level is upheld for a predetermined duration or until the current drawn by the output battery diminishes to a specified level for 30 seconds. Following this, the Charger seamlessly progresses into the Float stage.

FLOAT Stage: In the Float stage, a consistent voltage of 13.3V (13.6V for LiFePO4) is maintained on the output battery. Mounting Locations

The BCDC Core Battery Charger is designed for installation within the vehicles cabin or in similarly protected environment such as in a ute canopy, caravan or batteyr box. The unit will operate below 55°C/130°F with good airflow.

At higher temperatures the unit will derate the Out current up to 80°/175°F at which point the unit will turn OFF.

Important: The BCDC Core must not be mounted in the engine bay of a vehicle. Moisture ingress and heat build up may damage the battery charger.
